More About Rideau Lakes Aikikokaido School of Aikido

Break falls are easier than most people think.  Here a new student is being shown how to do break falls.   First we begin break falls from a laying down position.  Then as students progress, they move to doing break falls from the knees.    When a student is ready and comfortable with it, they can move to doing break falls from a standing position.   As they progress, the break falls become more dynamic, and then over the years, more skillful.  Students are encouraged to try and they are also encouraged to work at their own pace. Safety is a key component at our dojo, so no-one is asked to try something they aren't ready for.  In most Aikido dojo's beginners and advanced people work together, but everyone works at their own pace.
At Rideau Lakes Aikikokaido, we are friendly, helpful, patient and encouraging.
